It is the 169th biggest media market by size in the United States, with a total population of 110,060 TV households as of the 2024-2025 television season, up +1% from that of the 2023-2024 season. The Rapid City DMA comprises 17 counties across three states, namely, Carter, MT; Bennett, Butte, Custer, Fall River, Haakon, Harding, Jackson, Lawrence, Meade, Oglala Lakota, Pennington, Perkins, and Ziebach, SD; and Crook, Sheridan, and Weston, WY.
