NewsNight host Abby Phillip has a genuinely benevolent personality and a vibrantly alluring presence. Her gentle persistent efforts to maintain control over the discussion are admirable, and regular panelist Scott Jennings rightly praised her supervisory finesse at the end of 2024. But over the last two months, the guests' collective respect for Phillip's role as moderator has deteriorated. Her efforts to restore order to conversations when clashing speakers refuse to be silent now require prolonged effort. Some of the worst offenders are the most frequent guests, including CNN employees. Having up to five contributors to conversations rather than a smaller number invariably contributes to the misconduct of some guests, and the pointlessness of tuning in. Guests such as Elie Honig who have substantial expertise and who provide genuine insight are greatly outnumbered by intellectual mediocrities who merely voice biased opinions.
The program benefits tremendously when knowledgeable experts such as Elie Honig are present.
Whether the solution involves temporary disinvitation or permanent exclusion of specific guests, muting of mics, or much stricter control of speaker order, whichever producer or manager is ultimately responsible for permitting this annoying disorder to persist needs to immediately show some professionalism or be replaced. Newsnight has never been a top source for analysis, but Phillip's unwavering maturity and substantial intellect are enticing. Nonetheless, I will have diminishing respect for her, and definitely no inclination to keep viewing this program, unless more considerate and disciplined conduct at the table is promptly and permanently implemented.

I like this this show, but it often happens that two or more of the panelists will speak at the same time, creating auditory chaos.
Oy! In preparation for each show, Abby should establish a rule that panelists can speak ONLY when they're spoken to ---by Abby.
That would fix it! No?

America, if you are not watching Abby Phillips Newsnight on CNN please START! Republicans & Democrats speak on political topics with no HOLDS BARED😊 It is insightful, and intelligent from both parties perspectives. Ms. Phillips is soft spoken, and current on ALL topics discussed! Does her homework! I❤️IT!
I love this show my favourite show on television and I’m a pro trump Republican Abby is a little biased but she is mush more fair to the republican cohosts then most liberal tv journalists and they have real Republicans on the show that’s also commendable not like apologists like Alyssa on the view who almost never disagrees with her cohosts this is truly one of the best shows on television today I will be very disappointed when it gets cancelled/

I like Abby a lot but I have to change the channel when I see Scott Jennings. He can not carry on a civil discussion to save his life!!

Scott is actually very articulate and is the only reason I enjoy watching the show.

ALL of Abbie's guests are "articulate". You only like Jennings because he was hired to be the Republican turd
in CNN's punch bowl. ;-)
What's up with giving crazy Ben Carson a platform 🤦

IMO, It was a mistake for Ben Carson to spoil his legacy as a highly-respected surgeon by becoming a clumsy, ridiculously inept
Repooplican politician.

Ms.Phillip is a relatively calm, soft-spoken anchor whose insightful questions reveal that she does her homework.

I do watch the show most evenings but find Abby Phillips a little annoying, she interrupts the guests far too often and seems to feel that her opinion is rather superior to the others. I don't live in the States and find the Political situation rather childish and amusing, unfortunately the rest of the world seems to be ignored. CNN has given Trump, I trust unintentionally, so much publicity, how many thousands of times is his name mentioned every week. Bad publicity is better than none and CNN have obliged..

She always interrupts the conservative guest because it doesn’t fit her narrative
