Blue Bloods had much better ratings than these "news" shows. They've hired Katie Pavlich for the Bansfield's slot. She's an extreme maga person. Great hires. Batya and Pavlich. The diversity is strong at News Nation. Sarcasm. Cuomo will quit next year. Guaranteed.
Adding MAGA Pavlich to replace Banfield, along with Vittert (Charlie Kirk supporter) shifts Newsnation to the right. Good! Let them fight Fox News and Newsmax for that piece of the pie. Newsnation continues to flounder in the ratings. ADDUM: Want a good laugh...? Read the interview with Sean Compton in the Hollywood Reporter (December 2025) and how Sean tries to justify Newsnation's ethos and tries to defend their game plan. What a joke! If I were doing the interview I'd have asked why the ratings have sucked?
Batya is lame...Pavlich hire is lame...NN will be 5 years on air in March 2026 and Newsnation will still be lame!
93,000 avg viewers week ending December 7th. Their ratings sucked as much as Trump's rant on TV tonight
Even lower the week before: only 90,000 average viewers the week ending Nov 30th! Newsnations ratings suck big!
Newsnation just isn't working...its been a flop. Nexstar needs to change direction on come up with a better option.
Getting close to the 5 year mark March 2021 and all they have to show the last 2 ratings week were 90,000 and 93,000 avg viewers per week. No wonder moral is so low at NN!

Illegitimate second rate done on the cheap Newsnation is going to fallback on its UFO bright spot THIS Saturday 8pm: "Underwater UFOs" . Nexstar even bought time yesterday after football on CBS and 60 Minutes at 730pm. Let's see what happens after this stunt.gets pulled. Saturday night TV is a wasteland...why not run it Sunday night guys?
It's ludicrous for Nexstar to keep touting how much Newsnation ratings have grown. They are still half of what Newsmax scores. And just look at this: Fox News 2,8000,000 average viewers - Newsnation 108,000 average viewers. Need I say more? Their ratings suck!
Someone told me they worked at Newsnation but was looking elsewhere. Was told "lousy pay" and "low moral". Unfortunately openings these days are few and no one's hiring
According to The Hollywood Reporter...Election Night Ratings were as follows: 1) Fox News 2,920,000 , 2) MSNBC 2,880,000 , 3) CNN 1,910,000 . Newsnation...a paltry 287,000 ! Horrible numbers...why is this channel still on the air?
Nexstar's press release thru Forbes TWISTED their Saturday Sept 14th Primetime ratings: "Did you see Newsnation beat CNN MSNBC..." ... I mean COME ON... WHAT A BUNCH OF PROMOTIONAL POPPYCOCK. Anyone with a brain can scroll to the top of this page and look at the graph...its a jagged line graph across the screen that's flat to the right okay! Plus Newsnation still doesn't show a daily report. If ratings are sooo good, why not? This channel is still a second rate news operation...and it shows. If Newsnation was sooo good as they say their ratings would be at the top of the heap. Instead Nexstar keeps beating this dead horse to death
At first glance Cuomo's October 15th numbers look good: 322,000 average viewers. But it turns out it was actually called "News Nation Town Hall" which was also broadcast on The CW which actually had higher numbers (377,000 average viewers). In addition it was a 2 hour event that was also hosted by Bill O'Reilly and Stephen Smith among other political guests. Next day Cuomo's numbers were back to normal (128,000 average viewers). Maybe Nexstar should offer O'Reilly and Smith their own shows, which would probably do better than what they offer now.
Nicktoons...basically non-stop Spongebob Squarepants 24 hours a day...garners half the number of average viewers (56,000) that Newsnation pulls (106,000) ...BUT... Nicktoons garners 24,000 avg viewers in the 25-54 demo while Newsnation pulls a paltry 10,000! Same for the 18-49 demos. ..sooo for the $$$ I'd advertise on Nicktoons!
Leland Vittert's "secret" is he grew up with autism. Though I am truly empathetic to his situation, that doesn't excuse his lame show or poor ratings!
